Chinese Consulate

I went to the Chinese Consulate yesterday to apply for my entry visa. The fee is $140 and it'll be ready on Thursday. I was questioned a lot by the officer at the visa office. I think they thought I was a spy. They were a bit perplexed because I held an American passport. However, because I was born in Hong Kong, they asked to see a copy of my Hong Kong birth certificate. Upon viewing it, they asked me why I didn't have a Chinese name since my mother is Chinese. I told them because my father was from Macau, there was no Chinese name given at birth. They also didn't like the fact that I put United Kingdom when they asked for my former nationality. They made me cross it out and put Hong Kong, China.
